Public sharing and request records

Public files can be downloaded by anyone with their URL. Cached and downloaded copies cannot be withdrawn. A limited download uses a short-lived access cookie or token to permit retries; it is not used for visitor tracking.

Requests reaching our delivery service may record full IP addresses, user agent and browser/OS indications, referrer origin, approximate country/region/city and network, time, resource, method, and response status. Authorized resource owners and Harold administrators can inspect these records. IP/browser groupings are estimates, not verified people.

These records are retained indefinitely at present. We do not use persistent visitor cookies or browser fingerprinting. We do not store authorization headers, cookie contents, signed storage URLs, or request bodies in analytics. Reads from a browser's local cache may not reach our service.
